I went with about half of the amount of the ingredients and only 1.5 tbsp of sugar instead of half of 1/3 of a cup (whatever that amounts to). Overall, this salad has the potential to become a hit, however it needs a few adjustments. I would cut the amount of sugar and oil to 1 tbsp and 2 tbsp, respectively, and use fresh mandarin oranges instead of canned.

Soy Sauce Fried Noodles

I appreciate the kind of recipes like the one I tried for fried noodles. The dish is done in no time and is tasty too. The only sort of odd thing was that the noodles tasted differently from the Chinese noodles I’m used to. Perhaps there wasn’t enough sauce?

Hong Kong Sweet and Sour Pork

Pretty much followed the recipe except I added fresh pineapple and eliminated cayenne peppers.

Cantonese Egg Tarts

A very good recipe. I would recommend to adjust amount of sugar according to your taste. I noticed that I almost always add less sugar than recipes call for. I also noticed something else while cooking this particular dish. I hate making dough. Any dough that requires use of hands. And while I was hating my dough I started hating my husband for not comforting me at this sensitive for me moment. Only the time (15 min) and successfully cooked tarts helped me avoid a breakdown. 🙂

Hong Kong Milk Tea

I’m going to drink this tea everyday! But since I’m on a diet I’m going to eliminate sugar and sweetened, condensed milk from the recipe (ehhh… maybe just a teaspoon of condensed milk).
