Overall, the dinner was a success. My family especially liked Riz Gras and Bissap tea. I modified the Riz Gras recipe somewhat, excluding cabbage and using canned peeled tomatoes in place of tomato paste.
Bissap Tea
I have to confess that I cheated. To make the Bissap tea, I substituted hibiscus flowers with bagged tea that had hibiscus in the list of ingredients. I did, however, make sure that it appeared first in the list. 
I steeped three tea bags in about 1.5 liters of boiling water for about 20 minutes, then added fruits. My sons decided to infuse the tea with strawberries, raspberries and pieces of pineapple. I also added 2 tablespoons of sugar to sweeten the the whole thing a bit.
