Oh, I’m so glad this week is over. I was cooking Bolivian dishes three days in a row and I think I overstretched myself in the process. The problem was that I couldn’t choose from an array of dishes I … Continue reading

Bolivian Trout
I found this delicious recipe on a Bolivian website and translated it with the Google translator. I hope it is somewhat original.
Trout with cream
Ingredients:
- 2 kg (4.5 lbs) of trout
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 150 g (1/3 lb) Parmesan cheese
- 1 pinch of garlic
- ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper
- salt to taste
Wash the fish and cut into steaks. Set aside. Mix cream, pepper, garlic, salt and grated Parmesan cheese. Put the filets in a baking dish, cover with the prepared cream and bake at 350°C for 25 minutes.
Bolivian Christmas Punch
I found this recipe on a Bolivian website. As is, it would yield about 1 serving, so it must be adjusted depending on the size of the party and its drinking capacity.
Ingredients
- 150 ml (2/3 of a cup) of red wine
- 60 ml (1/4 of a cup) of orange juice
- 45 ml (3 tbsp) of rum
- 45 ml (3 tbsp) of Grand Marnier
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cloves
Combine all ingredients in a heavy pot. Bring it to boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.

Bolivian Coffee
This coffee was a demo item in our local Trader Joe’s. We usually try demo items but rarely buy them but this time we immediately fall in love with this coffee. It is mild and and not acidic. Just the way we like it! Grown and made in Bolivia.
